You’re invited to an immersive exploration of creativity and youth wellness at our arts-based conference, where arts and design will inform youth wellness policy making.
We’re bringing together diverse voices from across Washington state including arts and youth-serving organizations, youth, researchers, and policymakers. Panelists and presenters will showcase the role of arts in building youth wellness as well as creativity-based methods for more inclusive policy making. Activities will include a special keynote address and interactive panels incorporating arts-based performances.
Together, we'll explore the intersection of art and science, unlocking new pathways to support youth wellness in programming and policy. Space is limited. Register now to reserve your spot!
Imagining New Futures is a two-day event. Day 1 is being led by a small group of youth artists and will bring together a private cohort of youth participants to create an immersive arts installation that will surround the activities of Day 2—which is open to the public.
When? Day 2 (open to the public) is May 16, 9:00 am doors and check-in; 9:30 am program starts
Where? In person at Washington Hall, 153 14th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122
How much? Suggested donation of $100*, includes lunch. *Nonprofit employees and arts workers can purchase tickets for $35; no one will be turned away due to inability to pay. Registration fees will enable free participation for youth.

Meet the small team of youth leading Day 1 of the conference! This team is designing a for youth by youth art and wellness day intended to call to action youth wellness policy and program participants.
Deborah Cullinan is one of the nation’s leading thinkers on the pivotal role artists and arts organizations can play in shaping our social and political landscape, and has spent years mobilizing communities through arts and culture.
Dr. Cullinan will speak about the Stanford Arts Prescribing Program, which connects community members with arts and culture activities to support their individual health and well-being goals. Participants receive an arts prescription which contains 9 “doses” of arts and culture.
Imagining New Futures is co-hosted by CoLab for Community and Behavioral Health Policy at the University of Washington Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, AHSHAY, the Doorway Project, and Love Light Energy Art Therapy
