Eric J. Bruns, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, University of Washington School of Medicine. Dr. Bruns’ research and other professional activities focus on public child-serving systems, and how to maximize their positive effects on youth with behavioral health needs and their families. His research focuses on school mental health services, intensive community-based strategies for youth with complex mental health needs such as the wraparound process, and state behavioral health policy. He is Co-Director of the National Wraparound Implementation Center and Associate Director of the University of Washington’s School Mental Health Assessment, Research, and Training (SMART) Center. He has authored over 100 refereed journal articles and book chapters on these topics and served as Principal Investigator for over 20 federally funded studies of community- and school-based mental health services.
